Metal Treating Institute Elects 1st Female President (VP of ThermTech)
The Metal Treating Institute (MTI) in Jacksonville Beach, Fla., elected Mary Beth Springer, vice president and general manager of ThermTech of Waukesha in Waukesha, Wis., as the first female president. Ms. Springer previously served in the top elected office of MTI at both the international and local levels and is a past recipient of the President’s Award as outstanding volunteer for the organization. A second-generation heat treat executive, Ms. Springer was a nurse prior to joining her family’s business in 1989.
At the MTI Annual Meeting in Dallas, the board of trustees also elected Rich Penrose, president of California Brazing in Newark, Ca., as international vice president/president-elect and Judith Rudy, president of Queen City Steel Treating in Cincinnati, Ohio, as treasurer.
